Turning Pain into Purpose
Like most organisations trying to change the world, Allecza was spurred by motherhood.
In 2015, Goldie Putrym took her first child on their first family vacation. Little did she know the baby would have another first – her first anaphylactic reaction.
Determined to keep her child safe and healthy, she delved into the scientific literature and rediscovered her passion for medicine. At the same time, she realised how much harmful misinformation there was in the media putting lives – especially very young ones – at risk. Goldie started working with parenting groups, schools and charities to help families understand eczema and food allergies.
In 2023, Allecza was born (soon after Goldie’s second child and her three books on food allergies!), blending the latest science with our founder’s decade of hands-on experience as an eczema and allergy mum.
Goldie currently works on eczema and food allergy clinical trials as part of her pre-PhD training.
She has been recognised by Small Business Britain as one of the most inspiring female founders of 2025 and by the local mayor for her contribution to the community.
